What I Learned

HAIR CUTS!!!

The first hair cuts I am putting on here are men's cuts. I will show the progression of cuts I did on my male mannequin Kyle!
He started off a little rough looking, but I think he cleaned up pretty well!

The Start

The first cut. Just  trim using the 90 degree technique.

Second Cut. A slight fade using the clippers on the sides and back. Then shears on top, faded the top into the sides by using 45 degree cutting and using 90 degree on top.
 Side view of 2nd cut.

3rd cut. The Crew Cut or High Top. Using the clippers on the back and sides and timed up the top/sides with the shears.

Last cut. Buzz Cut. This was done with clippers and a slight fade at the nape.
 Back/side view of buzz cut.

Second set of Hair Cuts done on my mannequin named Courtney!

The first one I did was a 0 degree cut just to clean up her ends.

The second was a stacked inverted bob. This was a tricky cut but with more practice I think I can master it! I used the 0 degree, 45 degree cutting techniques on this cut.

This last cut I decided to try on my own and it turned out great! I used the 45 degree around the sides and back nape area, the scissors over comb technique. Then I just used the 90 degree on the top and styled out with some gel.

HAIR COLORING

OMBRE!
This is a super popular hair trend going on right now. In hair coloring I learned a technique on how to achieve this look.
Before Ombre

After Ombre
I just took her from dark brown to blonde, to even lighter blonde at the ends.

Styling Techniques

Finger Waves
I learned this in school, a popular 20's style, brought back somewhat thanks to the film Great Gatsby! This is the wet version but it can be dried and brushed out for a softer look, I will post my attempt at this at a later time!

Incorporating Corn Rows, Barrel Curls and Spiral Curls
In class we had an up do competition to incorporate at least 3 of the techniques we learned in our last session. I incorporated the 3 techniques of corn row's, barrel curls and spiral curls. Also... I placed first! I love how the back curls turned out, I can't wait to try variations of this style, and possibly on a real person, volunteers welcome!
